Mr and Mrs P, both retired were not content with the poor levels of return they were obtaining from having their money in the bank. After we had run through the entire figures of a solar pv system we managed to secure their investment at a 11% return, hugely outweighing where they were currently investing their savings. We installed 11 x Sanyo 250w panels with a SMA inverter located underneath their stairs.

To date our latest finish ! ! From first inspection we knew this job was going to be complicated. Due to the age of the house and therefore the roof we were dealing with very fragile plain peg tiles. Any sudden movements would result in the tiles breaking so we had to do the entire installation from ladders positioned from the scaffolding to the ridge. This proved to be very awkward but eventually we managed to install the originally designed 16 x 240w Sharp panels and Fronius inverter. We did however need to return the following morning to fire up and sign off the contract, but im afraid at 10-13pm there is very little sunlight to get the system working ! ! !

Both Mr and Mrs K are now retired and as with most of us, worry about the ever rising costs of energy. Their son and daughter in law had recently had a solar pv system installed and had encouraged Mr and Mrs k to do the same. They own a 1970’s detached house with flat concrete tiles. The roof is perfect south facing with no shading at all. We managed to install 16 x 250w sharp panels and a SMA inverter within the loft. This was a very straight forward installation and the scaffolders were back onsite within 24 hours of their first visit.

Mr H lives at home with his mother and his sister. He refers to himself as an eco warrior and had been researching into solar pv systems with us on and off for a long period before finally committing to an installation. Due to the small roof space we had to deal with and the positions of chimneys we were unable to install anymore than 6 x 250w Solarworld panels and a SMA inverter within the loft. However Mr H works nights and therefore by using the majority of his electricity during the day he will see massive savings on his current usage by now having a Focus Solar system installed.

She already used thermal heating systems and is now looking at ground source air systems to really complete the package. We installed 16 x Sanyo 240w panels on duel aspect roofs and an SMA 4000TL inverter within the roof space of her bungalow.

Mr G recently bought a disused nursery and is currently in the process of obtaining planning permission to redevelop the site and build his dream family house. To take full advantage of the current feed in tariffs avaliable Mr G decided to have a ground mount system installed and have Focus Solar reposition the system on the new house once it has been constructed. We built a timber frame and installed 16 x 250w Sharp panels, 80 metres of armoured cabling to the existing property and a SMA 4000TL inverter within the utility room.

It is possible to install a system yourself using an electrician, however it is important to realise that if you do not use an MCS Accredited installer you will not be able to claim government backed incentives such as the feed-in tariff, and in most cases this will render manufacturer warranties invalid.
